I love great beer and the community around it. I'm the creator of the Beer Scholar Online Courses for the Cicerone Exams. I'm an Advanced Cicerone, a National BJCP beer judge, and I founded the San Francisco Homebrewer's Guild. I occasionally write about beer for online pubs, do consulting work, and staff trainings for taprooms. I'm an attorney and member of the bar of NY, but switched full time to working in beer when I launched Beer Scholar in 2014. I opened Old Devil Moon in 2016, a top beer joint in San Francisco, where I remain an active owner. In 2022 I moved to Portland, OR to put together a little studio for online course creation and to focus full time on building out online Beer Scholar courses and community spaces.
