CRAFT BEER INSTITUTE PRIVACY POLICY

The Craft Beer Institute is committed to protecting the privacy of users of the Cicerone Certification Program website at Cicerone.org (the “Site”).  This Privacy Policy sets forth our current privacy practices with regard to the information we collect when you use the Site and how we use and share that information.  By accessing the Site, you acknowledge that you fully understand the Craft Beer Institute’s Privacy Policy and consent to the information collection and use practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect or Receive and How We Use It

We collect or receive information about you when you use the Site or otherwise communicate with us.  Visitors to the Site can register for an account to view certain content and to purchase services.  When you register for an account, we will request your name, e-mail address, physical address, telephone number, company name, and work title, and we will allow you to select a password.  We will provide you with the means to ensure that personally identifiable information in your web account file is correct and current.  If you are purchasing a service, we will request identifying personal information (name, address, etc.) and financial information in order to complete the transaction.  Any financial information we collect is used only to bill you for the services you purchased.  When you purchase by credit card, this information may be forwarded to your credit card provider.  Credit card numbers are not retained in any form by our systems so you will be asked to re-input this information each time you make a purchase.  You may also be asked to disclose personal information to us so that we can provide assistance and information to you.  For example, information such as your name and e-mail address may be requested in order to provide technical support and troubleshooting.

You understand and expressly agree that if you take and pass the Certified Beer Server exam, the Certified Cicerone® exam, and/or the Master Cicerone® exam, we shall have the full right and authority to include your name, city, state and level of certification on the Site roster of persons who have achieved certification under the Cicerone® Certification Program, and you consent to our disclosure of such information to the public.

You also acknowledge and expressly agree that if you use an organization-purchased coupon code to register for the Certified Beer Server exam and/or Certified Cicerone® exam, that organization will have access to, and the right to access, all information and results relating to your taking that exam, including any subsequent and personally paid-for exam attempts and regardless of whether you continue to be employed by or have a relationship, affiliation or other connection with that organization.We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others.  We will not disclose personally identifiable information we collect from you to third parties without your permission, except to the extent necessary, including to fulfill your requests for services; to respond to legal process or comply with law; to protect the rights, property and safety of the Craft Beer Institute, of users of the Site, and third parties; and to enforce the Site’s Terms of Use.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

The Craft Beer Institute may update this Privacy Policy from time-to-time.  We encourage you to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect.  Your continued use of the service constitutes your agreement to this Privacy Policy and any updates.
